At the next meeting of the Uet scheduled during the Prix d’Amerique weekend at the end of January, Masaf will also bring a summary of all the numbers of Italian trotting in the year that has just ended. A year that registered 6,026 races at all the national racecourses, at which a total of 56,573 horses were declared starters with an average of 9.38 horses started per race. The prize money distributed to trotting races excluding additional prizes for breeders amounted to € 44,535,260with an average of € 7,391 per race.
If we go into specifics, there were 5667 horses that participated in at least one race (net of withdrawals), so the average prize money available per horse was € 7,858.

The number of driving licences for professional drivers issued in 2024 was 515; the number of professional trainers was 424, the number of apprentices regularly employed by a professional trainer was 108, and the number of licensed gentlemen drivers was 425.
On the owners’ side, there were 1848 names (company, assumed name or own name) who had at least one horse running during the year, while breeders with at least one product born numbered 829.
