The Prix de Bourgogne scheduled on Sunday in Vincennes qualified four more horses for the Prix d’Amerique on Sunday 26 January. Among these were two important names, also in terms of final success, such as Idao de Tillard and Go On Boy, who placed first and second respectively (driven by Clement Duvaldestin and Romain Derieux) at the end of a race in which the Italian tricolour appeared a little faded. Unlucky Dimitri Ferm who nevertheless raced as a protagonist, but hooked up with Don Fanucci Zet just as he was trying to provide his cue in search of a placing. Always Ek, on the other hand, made a mistake in the early stages, while Bengurion Jet never got into the thick of the race. For Idao de Tillard, defending champion since he won the last edition of the great Parisian race last January, an average of 1.09.8 per km on the 2100 metres of the Plateau de Gravelle.
At this point, the qualifiers for the Prix d’Amerique before the last race, the Prix de Belgique, scheduled for Sunday 12 January are (in order of amounts won by the highest)
Idao de Tillard (1st Bourgogne)
Hooker Berry (3rd Bretagne)
Go On Boy (2nd Bourgogne)
San Moteur (2nd Bretagne)
Enmeraude des Bais (2nd Bourbonnais)
Hokkaido Jiel (3rd Bourbonnais – 4th Bourgogne)
Hussard du Landret (1st Bretagne)
Just For You (1st Tenor de Baune – 4th Bretagne)
Josh Power (1st Bourbonnais)
Keep Going (1st Crit. Continental)
Fakir de Mahey (4th Bourbonnais)
Justin Bold (3rd Bourgogne)
With Etonnant not having accrued sufficient winnings in the year for participation (at least €12,000), and with the already announced forfeits of Horsy Dream, Jushua Tree, Joviality and Ganay de Banville, there could be at least two places to be allocated to non-qualifiers based on the winnings ranking. In pole position are Honeck and Ampia Mede sm.
