Time for tenders for the management of some important Italian racecourses. Yesterday morning, in fact, the Municipality of Varese issued a notice of Expression of Interest to participate in the procedure for the concession in use of the Municipal Complex of the Bettole racecourse. The objective is to identify qualified subjects interested in the valorisation of the facility, maintaining priority for horse-racing activities, but also opening it up to supplementary activities compatible with the world of horse-racing, sports, recreation and culture. As is known, the concession to the current management company expires on 31 December 2025. Applications for Expressions of Interest must be submitted by noon on 31 March, following the instructions contained in the public notice available on the official website of the Municipality of Varese. This is in fact the start of a long process that will have to lead to the identification of the new manager of the Lombardy plant. The concession may not have a duration of less than 10 (ten) years and more than 30 (thirty) years starting from the stipulation of the contract, and will be commensurate with the amount of the investments for upgrading that the bidder will offer during the procedure. The modalities for calculating the duration will be specified in the letter of invitation.
