CRISTIAN DEMURO STAR IN KYOTO

17 December 2024

Two wins and three second places for Cristian Demuro on Sunday in Kyoto. The Italian jockey missed out on victory in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes group 1 race for two-year-olds with Museum Mile, but in the meeting he achieved two successes: with Shihono Perfetto in a maiden for two-year-olds over 1400 metres and immediately afterwards with Summer Night in a similar race, but over the distance of 1800 metres. Both fillies trained by Ryo Terashima. The other two second places of the day came with Sky Survey in an Allowance for three-year-olds and over over 2200 metres and with Thrilling Chase in another trial over 1800 metres.

Cristian Demuro’s trip to Japan is coming to an end as next Sunday will be the last day that the Italian jockey will be able to be engaged in the country of the rising sun before returning to Italy. For the record, since 27 October, when the Japanese campaign began, he has already scored 27 victories, 22 second places and 12 thirds with a winning percentage of 22% and a haul of 579,184,000 yen (about 3.5 million euros)
