Winning escape for Cuba del Duomo in Florence in the 79th edition of the Ponte Vecchio. The bearer of the Legati family’s Indal stable, trained by Andrea Esposito, dominated the Florentine classic at an average of 1.15.6 per km. A decisive start was made by Francesco Facci, who took the lead and accentuated the tactical nature of the race, also due to a few too many errors in the rear by his adversaries. The Dutch Hearth Of Steel followed Cuba del Duomo right from the start and stayed in second place at the finish line, resisting the return of City Lux for a complete domination of the first ribbon. For the daughter of Varenne and Irma del Duomo this was the 14th victory in 69 races run (with 44 placings), but the first ever in a group race.
