The year 2025 has certainly started on a positive note for Italian trotters abroad. If in France at Vincennes it didn’t go well for our horses that took to the track on the first day of the year. In Sweden we made up for it with interest. In the pre-evening and evening meeting at Solvalla, where racing took place in spite of the less than mild temperatures, three victories were won by native horses, and in particular that of Dorotea, a daughter of Royal Blessed and Perla Pan, driven by Orjan Kihlstrom and trained by Gennaro Casillo (Andrea Cogliani’s colours) who won the race reserved for females at an average of 1.15.1 over 2.140 metres. The trainer from Campania transplanted in Tuscany is thus the first Italian, among drivers and trainers, to win abroad in this new year.
For the record, the other two victories for Italian breeding came thanks to Fuliggine Pal (N. Benzon for S. Tinter) and Cubalibre Jet (driver and trainer Wilhelm Paal).
