THE NEW SPORT JUSTICE BODIES FOR HORSE RACING HAVE BEEN APPOINTED

23 December 2024

The process of selecting the new members of the Sport Justice bodies in the horse racing field has been completed. They were officially appointed by a decree signed by Undersecretary Senator Patrizio Giacomo La Pietra. As is known, the old disciplinary bodies ended their term of office on 16 December and have been extended until 31 December in order to ensure the necessary continuity.

The appointment marks a turning point and renewal, under the banner of transparency and competence’. These were the first statements by the undersecretary at Masaf, with delegated responsibility for horseracing, Senator Patrizio La Pietra. The new members were in fact chosen following an assessment procedure of the expressions of interest received following the publication of the public notice for the establishment of a list of experts to be drawn from for the appointment of members of the investigating and adjudicating commissions of the disciplinary bodies for the equestrian sector.
‘With the establishment of the new bodies,’ added Undersecretary La Pietra, ‘ we are taking a further step forward in the process of re-launching and renewing the entire horse racing sector, also through more incisive and more effective disciplinary action, which will make it possible to overcome situations that have undermined the credibility of the sector in recent years.
