TOMIKO AND BEENHAM ARE LEAVING ITALY

17 December 2024

Once again, the law of the market prevails and so Tomiko and Beenham, two of our best galloping females, leave Italy to be launched on a breeding career abroad. For Tomiko, the owners had rejected an offer of 200,000 euros at the recent French auctions organised by Arqana, but her definitive export has only been postponed. The daughter of Footstepinthesand winner of the Oaks (incidentally the only success in her 15 career races) and of over 200,000 euros in her career will continue her career as a broodmare in the USA.

For Beenham, a daughter of Havana Grey, who was the protagonist of a splendid victory in the Regina Elena Prize in the spring, the doors of the Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland will instead open. In both cases, the purchase figures have not been disclosed, partly because, according to what owner Matteo Belluscio told the ‘Italian Post Racing’ website, the sale could be part of a broader collaboration with the Irish stud farm, but it is clear that in both cases important capital gains have been made.
