TRIOSSI AND CARENA, DOUBLE BY GOCCIADORO

20 November 2024

It had already happened in Modena on the occasion of the European Union Grand Prix and in Follonica in the Città di Follonica. History repeated itself in Rome on the occasion of the Gran Premio Tino Triossi and in the equivalent Antonio Carena reserved for females. Alessandro Gocciadoro dominated the field by winning both trials: among the males with Executive Ek (colours of the Micciché brothers’ Pink&Black stable) and among the females with East Asia, French colours of Jean Pierre Barjon. Two forceful victories testifying to the great superiority of the two horses against their respective opponents. East Asia’s run-up in the Carena was beautiful with the counter-favourite Emma dei Veltri taking the lead and Antonio Di Nardo trying to impose a very selective pace on the race with 56.8 for the first 800 metres and a kilometre in 1.10.7. Even the further acceleration in the final did not weaken the resistance of East Asia who at the entrance of the last bend hooked up with her rival and then in the finishing straight bent her by force, closing the 1600 metres of Capannelle at an average of 1.10.2, a new record for the race, demolishing the previous limit of 1.10.7 of Crystal Pan.

In the Triossi (Gr. 1 from 154,000 euro endowment) solo of Executiv Ek (by Face Time Bourbon) who took the lead from the very first bars, even getting a little wild. Alessandro Gocciadoro tried to moderate the pace in the central phase of the race and still kept in great evidence even in the final at an average of 1.12.6. For the professional from Noceto Emilia a double as trainer thanks to the second place of Edy Girifalco Gio. Third extra Model.
