Twenty races over two days, a prize money of more than EUR 150,000. These are the numbers of the ‘Ladbrokes Ultimate Driver’, an international tournament for trotting drivers that will take place at the Albion Park Paceway in Queensland, Australia, on 21 and 22 February 2025 and will pit some of Australia’s and New Zealand’s best drivers against other great drivers from around the world. The final winner will take home 100,000 Australian dollars, or 61,000 euros at today’s exchange rate. Each driver participating in the competition will have a personal sponsor.
There are 10 competitors in the tournament; at the moment Bjorn Goop, Yannick Gingras and Dexter Dunn, among others, have accepted the invitation, but there are still a couple of empty boxes that will probably be reserved for drivers from the rest of the world.
These are the invitees:
- Dexter Dunn (New Zealand)
- Yannick Gingras (Canada)
- Gary Hall Jr. (Australia)
- Brad Hewitt (Australia)
- Nathan Dawson (Australia)
- Angus Garrard (Australia)
- Carter Dalgety (New Zealand)
- Björn Goop (Sweden)
